This story crossed the wire today:
Merger Possible?
I'm always a little skeptical by the whole "unnamed sources" thing, but given how its written I'm tending to lean in the direction of it being legitimate.
How might this change things?
In a big way, potentially. For frequent fliers and miles junkies, the makeup of a combined airline and how it structures (or changes) the frequent flyer program is a big concern. The hope would be that it adopts the AA earning structure and redemptions (since it's far superior than US Airways), stays in OneWorld, and lets you combine miles between programs.
Guess we'll have to keep watching...
