Visa required to visit EU countries starting in 2021

There was breaking news recently about a new requirement being put in place by the EU which will require US Citizens to have a visa prior to visit starting January 1st, 2021.  You can find more details here:

https://www.etiasvisa.com/etias-requirements/americans

Visas will be valid for three years and come with multiple entry status.  You can purchase these online prior to departure so that you're set when you land.

As an improved security measure, I suspect this was always an inevitable possibility given how freely you can enter/exit EU countries now.  While adding steps to the travel process might seem tedious I'm sure with a little planning everyone will get used to it.  Plan ahead!

Mini-vacation underway

I'm taking a bit of time through the long weekend for a mini-vacation - couldn't pass up the chance to escape back to Zurich since the points/price was right.  It's been pouring all day here and I'm jumping on a work call for a while though so far it's nice to enjoy the relaxing environment.

The sun may show itself tomorrow...

Back to Anaheim...

I didn't realize early in the year that I'd be making this many trips to the west coast - I'm on my way right now to meetings at Extron in Anaheim for the next few days.  The long 6.5 hour flights don't seem as long when you've been on a few!   Plus it allows me to catch up on work and email - there doesn't seem to be a shortage of that for the initiatives we have underway.

Ivy+ @Penn recap

We’ve wrapped our spring Classroom and Learning Space Technology Ivy+ meeting - a big thank you to Jeff, Allison, and the entire team at Penn for hosting us. It was our largest gathering so far! We also appreciated being a part of the Penn AV SIG group meeting where a variety of initiatives were highlighted. As always our discussions were excellent and room visits helpful as we consider new ideas to promote leadership and support teaching and learning.

Next up: Ivy+ at Penn

My weeks of busy continue - tomorrow I'll head down to Philly and the Penn campus for our spring Ivy+ meetings.  I look forward to these meetings to check in with peer institutions about strategies their using for learning space technologies and installations.

I'm also excited to share about our new Learning Space Initiative and upcoming summer renovation work.
