One of the branches of my family recently unearthed is the family von Hohensax. I've been researching information about this line that started with Albert I von Sax, my 23rd great-grandfather. His father was noted as Alcherrius De (da) Torre.

One note from the site lists the da Torre family as having been part of Churrätien nobility, which was from a medieval province after the Roman province Raetia Prima:
