China is not necessarily high on my list of places to visit, but being aware of the requirements to transit through China is important (since there are other surrounding places that I'd like to visit, such as Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Bangkok). I was always under the impression that you had to obtain a Chinese visa for any time you have to stop in China, but apparently that is not the case!
Visa not required
I think the important thing to note is that there is a time requirement, as well as documentation necessary. It's easy to forget those things when you're in the moment of being excited about visiting a new place and they slip your mind.
This may make it easier for me to find deals to Asia and other cities through China, while not having to fork out the big $ for a Chinese visa. I do want to visit the Great Wall, though...guess I may need to adjust my visit list!
